Paul Rollins has over 30 years of experience designing, building and rebuilding vessels ranging from small craft to 100-tons.

Experience in key areas:

  • Preliminary Design and Drafting - Basic drafting of boat concept, layout of systems, and deck/interior plan.
  • Survey and Project Estimating/Damage Appraisal - Experience surveying a wide range of craft for pre-purchase, evaluating overhauls and insurance.
  • Hull Building - Lofting, setting up, framing, planking, and finishing boats of all types and sizes.
  • Hardware Fabrication - Machining, brazing, welding, pattern making, finishing castings, and weldments.
  • Rigging - Building wooden spars, installing hardware and painting aluminum spars. Stepping, tuning, and sea trialing.
  • Cabinetry - Experience with layout, fabrication, finishing and installation of entire boat interiors ranging from galley construction to stateroom upholstery.
  • Inventory Management - Developing detailed schedule for the procurement and sourcing of rare materials needed for multi-year projects. The wide list includes fastenings, building and hull materials, engines, tanks, hardware, sails, etc.
  • Paint and Varnish Systems - Experience with shaping, prep, and application systems.
  • Project Lead and Management - Leadership of people, logistics, and building site management. Expertise in training, directing, and employing individual contractors to teams of 15 employees. Negotiation, contract management, buidding, and contract resolution.
  • Boat Delivery and Vessel Management - Ongoing maintenance, provisioning, dockage, delivery to facilities along Eastern Seaboard.
